as halloween is fast approaching, i have begun to notice that there is simply not enough time. ron needs a haircut, i need a princess leia wig, and of course seton still needs a hood/cape for his ewok costume. somehow, regardless of the fact that tried my hardest to avoid having to make costumes this year, i have been sucked in to doing just that. why is this? is it because i love my husband and want to make him happy or is it just that i really was looking for an excuse to waste time making a costume, even if it's only part of one? i have my suspicions that the reason is the latter, but i'll blame ron anyway.
so, now i am faced with a dillemma: it is about a week and a half until all hallow's eve and i've no idea how to make an ewok cape. does one start with the placement of the ear holes or should one begin by making the basic shape of the hood and worry about the ears later? i have no idea, but i gather that's what i'll be busy doing this weekend.

sleepy time
why adventures in naptime? b/c, as a mother of 2 very adorable and very young boys, the only time i have on this thing is between the hours of 12 and 3 (if i'm lucky), during that blissful time of day known as the nap. it's an amazing thing. for 3 whole hours, the house becomes, not the bustling hub of childhood noise, but the silent, calm, vegged out den of adults. all stay-at-home moms understand what i mean. we love our kids, but we treassure our naptime addictions. for me, it's tv, c.s.lewis, and the comp. so, for three hours a day, i revert to the adult (read: college student) world of yesteryear and have my own adventures in naptime.
